On 20 April 2023, in the framework of the PACT4Ukraine project, FAU hosted a networking event for Ukrainian students who have just started their journey at FAU, as well as those who have already completed one semester or more. Held in a very warm and friendly atmosphere, the event was both informative and communicative. Honoured speakers gave their advice and shared their experiences.

Thus, for example, Jürgen Wittmann, an academic advisor at the FAU, informed the participants about the most important aspects of beginning university studies, further education opportunities at the FAU and career opportunities after graduation. Gwyn Rhys Thomas and Lars Longerich, members of the FAU Student Council, spoke about the secrets of student life and shared information on how to make student life active and fulfilling.

At the same time, the students had the opportunity to communicate with those Ukrainians who had a long experience at FAU, namely FAU graduate Anna Laptii, who now works at the University Hospital Erlangen, and FAU student Olexandra Derikova, who studies at FAU for more than 2 years.

In addition to the information session, there was also a networking session, during which students had the opportunity to get to know each other and make contacts. At the end of the meeting, the project team talked about the opportunities for Ukrainians at FAU, in particular in the framework of the PACT4Ukraine project, and discussed how best to further build an academic corridor between the FAU student family and the student communities of Ukrainian universities.

We are very grateful to the speakers and participants for the warm atmosphere and open discussion!
