PACT4Ukraine hosted the workshop “Twin Cities Erlangen – Brovary: Planning For Further Cooperation”
From 17 to 19 January 2024, the Ukrainian delegation from the city of Brovary, led by Mayor Ihor Sapozhko, visited Erlangen. The delegation’s visit was part of the city twinning between Erlangen and Brovary, which was launched last year with the signing of an agreement to establish a partnership of solidarity and support.
On 18 January 2024, the delegation was hosted by a team of the FAU PACT4Ukraine project. To create the appropriate atmosphere, an excursion to Erlangen and the University was organised. After being immersed in the university environment, the delegation discussed the possibilities of cooperation with the PACT4Ukraine project and agreed on mutual support and further collaboration. The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of science and culture, as well as green energy, new technologies, and safety.
The project has continuously worked with the councils of Erlangen and Brovary on various initiatives. For example, in June 2023 the Project supported International Conference “Brovary-Erlangen. Historical Perspectives of the Twin Cities Partnership”. It is hoped that this cooperation will be strengthened in the future.
