On February 23, 2024, the PACT4Ukraine team took part in the open discussion “Hoffnungszeichen gegen die Gewalt des Ukrainekriegs” organised by Renate Aigner and Dr. Peter Leiberich, who constantly support Ukraine and organise various meetings on Ukraine-related issues. Among the speakers at the discussion were the following:

  • Prof. Heiner Bielefeldt, Professor, FAU Institute of Political Science
  • Dr. Gurgen Petrossian, Senior Officer for International Criminal Law, International Nuremberg Principles Academy
  • Peter Steger, Partnership Officer, Erlangen City Council
  • Antje Rempe, Kharkiv-Nuremberg Partnership Association

At the same time, Dr Anastasiia Panchuk presented the activities of the PACT4Ukraine project, which aims to support both Ukrainian higher education institutions and Ukrainian students and academics. Dr Panchuk also told the story of Kherson State University, showing the guests the life of Ukrainian universities during the war, including those that were displaced. This was followed by a Q&A session to discuss social, legal, and cultural issues related to Ukraine.

The PACT4Ukraine team is very grateful to the organisers, speakers, and guests for their support of Ukraine at this difficult time.
