On March 15, 2024, the PACT4Ukraine team held a productive brainstorming session with representatives from Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (CNU). The main focus of the meeting was to strategise joint initiatives aimed at fostering an academic corridor for Ukrainian students and educators, thereby mitigating the risk of brain drain from the country.

During the meeting, the PACT4Ukraine team presented their ongoing projects aimed at strengthening support for the Ukrainian academic community both in Germany and in Ukraine. Serhij Lukanjuk, Head of International Relations at CNU, and Dr Ruslan Biloskurskyy, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at CNU, provided an overview of collaborative projects currently underway or already completed in partnership with several German universities. The representatives of the Ukrainian university expressed their eager anticipation for bilateral cooperation in the academic, faculty and student fields.

Following the discussions, an action plan will be developed, laying the foundations for what promises to be a fruitful collaboration with Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

Notably, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University stands as one of Ukraine’s oldest and most prestigious classical institutions, situated in the historic city of Chernivtsi. The university encompasses two educational and scientific institutes: the Institute of Biology, Chemistry, and Bioresources, and the Institute of Physical, Technical, and Computer Sciences, alongside ten faculties spanning a diverse range of disciplines, from Geography to Law.
